Well thought I would try out this blog stuff. Sure I help out other people with theirs but never had my own. Not sure where to start so I'll start with something I made this week. Looking for something nice to keep your baby / toddler or kids books in? This is a nice cheap way of doing that but doesn't look cheap. You can buy similar type book racks in places like Kids Pottery Barn for $150+ or this :)
You get awooden spice rack from Ikea for $6.99. Preferably 2 of them as it looks nicer.
Then you stain what ever color matches your house / room or you can even paint it. I think staining it looks nicer and more expensive. After staining I put polyurethane to finish the look and protect it from little grubby hands. Here are pictures of the end result. I put my 2 book shelves off center as to cover some holes on the wall but you can put them on on top of one another which looks fabulous. Just make sure to have enough room between the two for the height of books you want to put in.
This keeps the book off the floor after bedtime reading. My toddler can reach these book shelves as well which is nice so he can put the books away too.
