I don't know about your little one but mine likes to know what we are doing everyday. Also I find this makes transitions to different activities easier. I took an old box of diapers and cut them up into 4x4 inch squares. Then I went to Fabric Land to get some velcro as I plan on putting up the list. I cut the velcro into strips to on onto the back of the card board. ** lesson learned here*** I also cut the side that the sign will attach too, bad idea for me at least. I am planning on making a line of sign so would have been better off to not cut that part and have it intact to go right across what I will put it up on. So back to Fabric Land I go ***lesson number two*** This time I got larger opposite velcro part which was great and with tape already on it. Should have done that the first time. I did attach the velcro to the cardboard with glue which didn't work so great so also had to staple it. The velcro with the tape already on it is much stronger = better.
We didn't have a chalk board in the house so I made one for multiple uses. I got a can of black chalk board paint from Walmart for around $26.00. That gives you a lot of paint, I didn't even use 1/2 the can. This area of the wall was useless so I made it useful. Today's blog I will only talk about the one use, another blog I will show you the other use I have made of this.
It was really easy to do just took some time. All the instructions are on the can and easy to follow. I taped up where I wanted to paint. It does require 2 coats and time between painting those coats. Even once one you need to wait almost a week before you can really use it.
Well thought I would try out this blog stuff. Sure I help out other people with theirs but never had my own. Not sure where to start so I'll start with something I made this week. Looking for something nice to keep your baby / toddler or kids books in? This is a nice cheap way of doing that but doesn't look cheap. You can buy similar type book racks in places like Kids Pottery Barn for $150+ or this :)
You get awooden spice rack from Ikea for $6.99. Preferably 2 of them as it looks nicer.
So much for me trying to do a blog every week. I do have some things I wanted to blog about but don't seem to get much time to do them. What I do have time for is to expand on what I write on my Toronto Mom to Mom FB page on other blogs. SO I thought why don't I just do that here?
So I'll try it.
